Top 5 Sites I'd Like to Visit Countdown #3: Yosemite National Park

The land mass that encompasses Yosemite National Park, Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park is enormous. It is a lofty goal to lump all three into one "must visit" post but I am ambitious.

Giant Sequoia trees and amazing waterfalls are only a small glimpse of what you will find in these parks. As with other parks, be sure to check weather reports and plan your visit carefully. This area of California is not coastal and 70 degrees all the time. Tire chains and frequent mountain pass closures are common. Seasonal roads may only be open for a few months out of the year.

Many tourism books give advice on how to tackle these three parks. A one-week trip or longer is probably best if you want to scratch the surface. Campgrounds can fill up quickly as this area is somewhat remote.
