I've had the great fortune to explore 47 of the 50 states of this great country. I'm missing Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Maybe this tidbit is what's driving my desire to visit Acadia National Park. Maybe it's the lush forests and serene rivers. I'm not really a sunrise person but could be persuaded to get up early to see the first light of the whole country. I got up early to go to Haleakala for sunrise and it did not disappoint!
In planning a trip, I wish the Acadia NP website had a bit more detail on the hiking opportunities. It looks pretty overwhelming and I usually like to have a couple hikes in mind before I get there so I can hit the ground running.
I recently discovered the All Trails app and website. I knew about it for a while but didn't want to have to create a login and all of that business. The app is amazing. Find hikes near you, get ratings from other hikers and leave your feedback.
